This is a future...dark and bleak. You will find humans here but they are more property then anything. Some are food and other labor..still others are free but only to an extent. Those can live but for a time before being taken. No matter where you go eyes see you. Eyes of vampires and droids. Of course androids are there as man created them but to a fault. They have their uses. Vampires control them now and about everything else. Your usual vamp is basic in most ways. He is usually not pure but is ...devious an powerful still. The royals...pure bloods are elite. Rare though however, they rule among all. Magic may come alive as there are still believers. Everyone dies. The choice is how and when that happens. In this world you can do what you want but you must survive, no one said death isn't an option but it's not the best you can do. Be anyone and find your place. After all we are here to live and enjoy it, the best that we can. Who will you be and what will you do?


it all started when the droids became self aware and were ordered to kill all "humans" there was no stopping them and the vampires used this opportunity to rise to power and over throw the humans and gain their rightful place atop the food chain for the droids where ordered to kill all humans....vampires on the other hand........are already dead.....there for their vitals are so low they did not register to the droids scanners. after most of the humans where killed, well enough to prevent an over throw of the vampires, the vamps stopped the droids destroying the central computer and all other self aware units and then the vampires began to breed the humans back up to a large enough food supply hahahaahah now all the humans live in blood banks and camps.....or out in the dark zones the uncharted areas of the world (read below for info on the lay of the land)........for now there is only one giant city with monstrous skyscrapers and at the top of each tower sits a high ruler.....a pure blood....a royal......a very powerful vampire who controls and manipulates most everything. there are very few of these select leaders of the vampires and they are always battling and feuding for land and control...........the humans fight for freedom.......and the droids are just tools...................................right?



The Lay of the Land

The City
first there is the city......in the center sit giant skyscrapers surrounded by small businesses and such most all owned by vampires.....power driving most all of the owners for they are always wanting to own more.........most of the city outside the inner section is abandoned and destroyed....skeletons scattered here and there....demolished cars and buildings.....signs of the war between the droids, humans, and vampires still clearly evident......every so often seen scattered through the destruction is another running business or perhaps another tower or two.......the city also has a system built to keep the sun out so the vampires are out day and night if needed....though out in the dark zone they have to wear suits or find shelter or whatever...

The Subway n' Basement
picture an abandoned run down sub way station with all its tunnels....and other hallways and tunnels connecting in between in a spider web like layout....nothing is really down here except for occasional droids set to patrol their routes.....and maybe a vampire hunting party or two.......other than that it is mostly abandoned....

The Dark Zones
this area is completely uncharted and who knows how far out it goes.....vampires almost never go there except maybe when they are running low on humans.....this place is known to be a haven for small number of escaped rebel humans.....this is where most of the human "free" population dwells it is barren and empty with no signs of life.......



Thats the set up now only restrictions are humans vampires and droid chars only so pick a side...humans trying to stay alive and save themselves..vampire stuck on killing humans....or a vampire trying to over throw a pure or pure blood trying to manage it all........or omg even a droid doing god knows what helping either side...its up to you...

Significant family members: none alive and havent been for hundreds of years he is the last of his blood line and he never finds anyone worth of his bite...his blood is strong and very powerful

Other background:he just wanders influencing things....the few that know him..respect him and fear him for he is the oldest.....very few know his last name...his family name....but everyone knows of the switch.....one of the strongest and biggest vampire clans...one of the first...their are books about them though they are all dead now or so it is assumed...he has spent most of his life in the dark zones wandering the human camps staying away from the major city....though after a few decades....he feels it is time to go back and see how things have changed

victor stands in an empty waste land sand blowing every where catching the bottom of his cloak....do i really want to head back to the city now?....deal with all of them and their problems and petty squabbling .....ooohhhh i guess its about time its been a long time since ive seen my own kind..... the city small and shimmering in the distance he begins to move long jumping strides as he moves with incredible speed heading towards the city.....

Glif activated for another 'day' at the factory. He was working on developing more efficient boosters. The ones he had were fast, but took up a lot of energy. He tinkered with some of the other droids a little, trying to find the flaw in their design. He fixed plenty of the other problems. So far he had updated his retinal filters to include not just standard colour, and infrared, but also ultraviolet, x-ray, and a unique audial filter that showed vibrations. He reinforced his frame while not adding on too much weight. He rewired and redesigned his 'muscles' to allow more agile movements, higher jumps, and a little more running speed, but his strength was only increased a little, he could lift up to 500 lbs but that's it. He wanted to go out to the city he saw off in the distance, but he didn't know what waited... or who, if anyone. He wanted to be prepared. There weren't many droids left, maybe a few hundred only, and he used their parts for ammunition, and spare parts. He sorted all the parts into very organized bins. He thought he could use some of the parts for trade. Soon he'd go, go and learn. He wanted to know what happened to the factory, and what was out there, since he had never left the factory...

Bharto walked down the small, cramped hallway to the main elevator for what seemed to be the only human settlement within a hundred miles. He reached a door and placed his hand on a scanner. After what took a moment to process, a retinal scanner came from the wall and placed itself in front of his face. A small burst of light, no more than having a flashlight brought across his face quickly, scanned his eyes. After that the last security measure put in place pushed out a keyboard, which he quickly used to type his 10 digit password to unlock the three foot thick metal doors and allow him to pass with safety through the automatic-turret grid that operated off of motion-detection.
He sighed and walked slowly through the spacious room, six turrets arranged in two rows that followed his every movement until a built in scanner in the ceiling shot down, scanned his face with a laser grid, and shot back into the ceiling. As Bharto continued through the room, he reached the far wall that had a small panel on it, which Bharto placed his hand on and what seemed to be a wall, quickly turned into another three foot thick door. Bharto walked to the elevator at the end of another small hallway that was designed to look like it had been burned up and smashed. As he entered his code into a small keypad at the elevator, he walked inside the small-ruined looking chamber.
When Bharto reached the surface, he walked over to the solar panel 4, the problem with it was obvious. As he walked over, he found that a sheet had been placed right on top of it, so he promptly pulled it off. He looked around, months of preperation to go to the surface and this is all he saw. Bleak, empty, dead. The only thing he saw that seemed strange was what seemed to be something or someone walking across the plains. It began running rapidly toward Bharto.
In a wild panic, Bharto ran to the door, opening it and going down the elevator. He got to the bottom and didn't stop moving until he was through both of the 3 foot doors and had put the locks both in place and returned the system to it's lockdown state. Bharto decided to look down at the cloth that had been placed over the panel. He yelled out instantly and threw it to the ground. The cloth he was holding was covered with blood. He looked down again. He had been hit by somthing, the blood on the cloth was his own blood.
Bharto was getting dizzy and reached over, hitting the panic button. Instantly, gaurds came out to help him. It was at that moment, he blacked out, and that's all he remembered the next week when he woke up in the hospital.

The incedint made him wonder more about what was going on upstairs. Noone had ventured within twenty feet of the elevator in fifty years. It was time to change that.

Glif walked about the factory and made his way up a metal staircase that led to a room. In the room were computers that he had kept running. They were the factory's records database, they had no connection to the out side only records of what happened in the factory. It had order payment records, model details where he learned a bit about how to fix himself, but it had very little other than that. He read one entry that was a notice sent to some employee, apparently high ranking, named Chet. It said such.

As you know the production of the GLF unit is going along smoothly. The 200 Series has it's flaws but is still our top product. I have some bad news, the city is dropping their orders down to half for the next quarter, it seems that Brafrod Industries has a better model of worker droids than the 200 model, hopefully our 300 series will be enough to raise our sales a bit. I'd hate to see Omega Tech go out of business just because of the city. I say this on the closed network because I technically shouldn't know this yet, but I over heard it in the last meeting when the city commissioner, I forget his name, and Kent Tadsmith were talking after. Mr.Tadsmith founded this company with the intent of helping the city, but the city wants the droids for patrols and what can only seem more like a military point... I wonder what they're up to... Well anyway I thought I'd let you know.

The notice was sent over 90 years ago. Glif hadn't read much on the computer out side of plans of the GLF-5xx model but he looked at sales records enough to know that the factory was shut down only 10 years ago. The production and research rate had been declining before that at a gradual rate. He was build 3 years before the company was shut down, and his accident happened the year before. Instead of being torn apart for parts, or researched the company had him work around the factory to try and boost productivity. He only remembered one man, the Davis mentioned in the notice. Davis only gave him orders, and he wasn't allowed off of the floor as many of the workers didn't feel safe around him. He didn't know really anything about the company he worked for, he didn't even know what company he worked for until after the factory shut down. He didn't know if Davis was in the city or even alive, but it was the only place he knew was a start. He went through more records finding out which parts would be worth the most, which was the AI chip, CPU, and Retinal inputs. He gathered some of these things and some other parts that weren't worth much but were used most, motors and wiring. Glif figured that he could sell these if the other parts had depreciated in worth too much.

After gathering the parts he sealed all of the doors with a torch and scrap metal. He left the door to the sewers and tunnels open as it was the hardest to find from the outside. He could use the factory as a place to come back to if he needed to or if he found nothing in the city. Besides that, this was what he knew as his home and he didn't want anyone to ruin his home, he didn't know what the outside was like so he prepared for the worst his limited knowledge would allow. He picked up the sack of parts and began walking through the maintenance tunnels, toward the city.

Victor finally was insight of the city it was day when he walked into the outer city....very few people walked around most of it abandoned not much had changed here since the last time he left it but he did notice that the people who walked out during the day where also vampires.....strange?....he thought but then he looked up and noticed the protective barrier above the city that kept the sun out....that was new....he did not uncover his face though and he stayed in the shadows as he continued to press into the city....the large towers.....more of them now....clearly in sight....he wasn't sure what his plan of action was but for now he would just watch.....for awhile.....though awhile for victor could be counted in years at times....

Bob walked along the streets of the city. He stared at the floor, disgusted by the junk lying around. He looked around, remembering how it was before... Tears crept down his cheek as he remembered his youth. But that was long gone. Wiping the wetness from his face he started thinking about what he should do. He took out a bottle from his dusty coat. Blood. He drank a bit, then closed it and put it away. *Noise*. Bob turned around and gazed into the shadows. He saw him immediately. A person or vampire was standing in the dimly lit alley. "Vampire or human?" he called out...

victor didnt step out of the shadows he smiled under his wrapped face this man had heard him....his perception must be great... "what difference does it make you call out to me what business do i have with you vampire?" victor asked he stood calmly...though you couldnt tell anything underneath all the layers of tan clothing....if this man wished to fight victor would humor him....he didnt intend to kill him....what reason did he have....but for now he just waited for the mans response...confident he would be able to get to his sword in time if he needed it

"None, really", he replied. "It's just nobody has ventured into this part of the city for the better part of a century. So what may you be?" Bob eyed the floor for a weapon. A steel bar caught his eye, lying only 2 meters to the left of him... He started walking to the left, imitating the idea of circling prey...

"a vampire like yourself" victor replied...."as for my reasons for being here lets just say.....im returning home?" he saw the bar on the ground figured....more hoped he would go for it all his time out in the dark zones.....fighting humans proved no challenge besides he was getting the idea this one might be quite skilled....he stood with his hands calmly by his side waiting for the man to make the first move then decided to propose a challenge...."so you seem ready for a fight...i doubt you could kill me" victor laughed slightly..."but i could use some practice.....so tell me is it your intention to attack?.....either way is fine by me...i promise to not kill you out right...." he was smiling under his covered face....

"I fight only when the need to is there" he replied calmly, "So unless you really need to practice now, I'd rather stay peaceful... May I ask what your name is?".

Glif descended the ladder into the tunnels and started walking, the tunnels were in decent condition for not being used much. He saw many corridors going left and right but he kept on task. He walked for almost a mile before he came to an actual door, it had a sign on it. It read "Maintenance". The sign was beat up but legible. He opened the door and went inside. The room was bigger than he thought, he looked around, saw little of importance and exited again. He put the location to memory and continued walking. After a few minutes he saw a light and he stopped. The light was bobbing rhythmically and growing slowly, approaching his location. It was a security robot, as it approached Glif could see it was made by the Bradford company, and a 'B' was on it's shoulder. The droid was rather 'thin' it didn't seem like it was built to fight, must be to observe and report. It spotted him but continued along it stopped just beside him and turned to him.

"You are not allowed down here, please evacuate immediately."

The voice was static and impersonal.

"I am on my way to the city, this was the most direct route."
"YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED DOWN HERE, EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY OR YOU WILL BE PUT UNDER ARREST" the voice boomed

Glif had little time to think of how to deal with this so he swiftly got behind the droid and disabled it's power supply. Else where, back in the security head quarters someone said. "Ha ha, check that out Zed another one got taken out, what do you think it was this time, falling into a bucket? Those things are worthless."
Glif continued along this time avoiding the security droids. He hadn't seen many and some of them were destroyed in the strangest places. One was stuck in a door it may have tried closing before it got through, one looked like it ran into a wall too many times, and there was one that fell into a bucket and was still trying to move, but it didn't notice him. There was one he saw that raised a slight alert in him, it had many scratches along it and was tore apart, some parts were also missing. At first he thought nothing of it but as he continued along there was one that had been pierced with some type of almost wood type spear and was stuck to a wall. The spear went through the droids chest. He couldn't figure out the composition of the spear, wood wouldn't be able to do this. He continued along, scanning a little more when he saw scratch marks on the wall sometimes. A third droid lay on the ground, pierce marks riddled it and some small spear like objects stuck out of it. He took one and placed it in his bag to study later. He found another maintenance closet and ducked inside. He barred the door with a heavy metal shelf near by and found an outlet. The outlet was broken. Above him was a light, he turned it on then off. He undid the bulb and fashioned an adapter from some wire near by, he plugged that into the socket and his small personal charger into that. He decided to wait here and charge for a few hours.

victor relaxed..."indeed....i feel the same on most occasions..." there was a pause of silence for a few seconds...."im a firm believer in unneeded violence is well.....unneeded" he walked closer to the man but still a short distance away...doing his best to not seem threatening and he offered his hand..."you can call me Victor.....and your name sir?"

Bob looked deep into Victors eyes and nodded. "Well met, Victor. You may call me Bob." He too, cautiously extended his hand to the vampire who had seemed so keen to fight mere moments ago.

he shakes the mans hand "Bob....thats a simple good name...im so used to the vampires ive known having weird long names....as if having a hard to pronounce name makes you superior" he laughed slightly "sorry about earlier bob i can still see your bothered by it....you seemed apt to fight when we met and i was quite ready to give you one" he laughs again.... "but if its not needed then i feel it best to have the first person i meet since my long absence from this city to be.....well a friendly one.." he turns and looks into the city no real movement this part of the city is dead.....and long been so...."so how has it fared here in the recent hundred years or so?" he placed his hands on his hips his back to bob talking to him no longer in fear of a fight.....then he turns to look after a pause...as if lost in thought...waiting for his answer....

Bharto was packing a few things before his journey to the outside world. His journey would be a hard one, but whatever he could find out about the surface world would bring new light onto the real situation everyone was living in. He knew vampires were the reason his people were driven underground and that robots were a great threat to humanity as well but that was about it. The world hadn't been seen in years, and Bharto was going to change that.
He'd spent the last few weeks working on a suit that would protect him from the Vampires' physical attributes as well as shield himself from the robot scanners. It was a material stronger than ten feet of solid concrete, but as light and flexible as elastic. It was laced with a small magnetic field strong enough to reflect the robotic sensors so he would be invisible to them and the suit had a mask that cover his face with micro-cameras that showed a veiw for the eyes. The entire thing was able to keep his scent covered so he wouldn't give any trace of his humanity and the best feature of all was that it was as soft as egyptian cotton.
He would need weapons, his designs were simple, but the results were very deadly. He had wired the inside of his suit to assist with life support and overall technology function. He had several blades that would form out of nano-bots built into his wrists as well as a sprayer that would release liquid nitrogen into the air by quickly seperating it from the air. He built several other devices, such as high-density Oxygen tablets that would knock-out anyone in the room for a quick escape.
After a week or two of physical training, he was ready to go to the surface. The hardest part of his preparations would be saying good bye to his family. After hours of saying farewell, he went to the elevator to the surface. He pressed a button on the elevator and a fine mist came down over him, destroying any human cells or scent on him. He pressed another button and the elevator began to ascend. Within moments he had reached the surface. The bright sunlight filled the camera lenses and he walked off the platform.

Bob sat down onto a large boulder nearby. "I don't really interact with the rest of the city. I mostly stay here" he replied. "But I do know that there are a lot of young vampires who move into the city, hoping for a tower and some power. Needless to say, most of them perish within a week or two". He reached into his dusty jacket and took out a big blunt.. He lighted it and took one, two, three big puffs, then looked over to Victor.. "You want some?"

victor smiled under his covered face...."sure...im quite familiar with what you have there....the humans grow it in quite abundance in the dark zones....seems it helps them cope with their situation..." victor lowers his hood and begins unwrapping his face.....if hes going to be in the city for awhile no need to be so covered....after his face is revealed he puts the wrappings into one of the few bags slung around him....his relatively long straight dark black hair spilling out wildly after so long bound as it was....he spends a lil while fixing it the crude facial hair hiding his handsome face....he would need to shave at some point...victor smiles at bob his green eyes shinning when he looks at him..."thank you..." he says and takes one long inhale and passes it back to him...he then continues to look at the city for awhile once again as if contemplating something....and after a moment exhales...he smiles again "not to bad...." he reaches into another one of the bags and pulls out a small sack and a long pipe....he unties the sack and packs the pipe "here try some of what the humans grow" victor said with a smile he lights a match and takes a puff of the pipe and offers it to bob...."a man who cant bare to share his habits is a man who needs to quit them i always say..." smiling again eyes finding their way to glazed.....victor seems to not care....or perhaps unaware that hes talking so openly about the humans with a vampire from the city.....

Bharto walked silently across the empty, barren landscape. Nothing was around for miles but empty, flat land. The entire area was a bowl, and it seemed to rise so high up, it almost seemed as if the entire world was contained inside a small dirt sphere. The ridge seemed to get very steep as it went up, how could someone ever get in here? Bharto walked along the barren landscape for hours, nothing was out here but the sun.
As he was about to turn around and go to the nearest point in the rim to attempt to climb it, he noticed something across the horizon. There was a small building it seemed, that was sitting on the bottom of the mountians. It was the only other building he'd seen all day, and the only hope there seemed to be of getting out.

He traveled for hours, but eventually made it. It seemed to be a completely abandoned gate device. "I wonder what happened here," Bharto said after looking closer, the entire place was wrecked and skeleton peices were all around. The gate was left open, so he decided to go in. It wasn't a clear shot to the other side like he'd thought, in fact it seemed to be built into the mountian itself. Bharto looked around, the lights on the building were on surprisingly. They looked alot like the lights from his home, they only glowed a slight color of blue instead of a pure white. They were designed to last for at least two thousand years and run off minimal power.
Bharto began walking down the hall and quickly found a room. The door was locked but there was sound coming from the other side. It was an older door with a handle on it, strange for such a modernized building. He reached out and grabbed it, finding it was impossible to turn. The room inside went silent. "Quick, go inside the hatch!" he heard from outside the door. There was a metallic bang, and then what sounded like a wheel turning. Silence.
Something was going on here, and Bharto intended on figuring out what. He was reaching down to pick the lock like his father had shown him when he was younger and there were still doors with handles in their underground home, when he heard a noise that sounded like footsteps coming from behind him.
"Freeze Vampire, there's three buckshots pointed at your head. Any flase moves and you'll be part of that door."
